//An on-going trend in the fashion world is the collaboration between high-end designers and mainstream retail merchants to offer chic, affordable pieces. The recent partnership of Missoni with Target generated a HUGE buzz and the line was pretty much sold out in the first few hours of hitting the shelves. I try and keep up with the different pairings and here are a few to note of:
Christian Siriano for Payless:
Siriano was the winner of Project Runway Season 4 and he won me over with his fun and over-the-top personality. Here are a pair of his shoes for the Payless Gold Collection. Found Here.
//Versace for H&M:
Versace is an iconic brand and their partnership with H&M will allow many consumers to purchase pieces for the first time. The collection goes on sale November 19th at 8am. Get ready for the madness! You can see all the looks and prices here.
//H by Halston for Bakers:
Halston is a high-end brand with shoes and purses sold in stores such as Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. They have partnered with Bakers and here is a bootie that I’m loving for winter. The full collection can be found here.
//Simply Vera Wang for Kohls:
Vera Wang is best known for her wedding gowns and luxury clothing. She partnered with Kohl’s to offer fashionable and affordable pieces. These animal print mary janes can definitely add some sass to many different looks. Her collection can be found here.
Designer Looks for Less:
For those times when you want to get a designer look, but don’t want to pay designer prices, find a look for less! Here are two I found:
//Gucci Huston High-Heel Platform – $1,100 (Here)
//Look for Less: Charlotte Russe Snakeskin Teardrop Platform Heel – $32.50 (Here)
//Giusseppe Zanotti Crystal Studded Shoes – $750 (Here)
Worn by Oliva Palermo
Look for Less: Bakers Wild Pair Glisten – $109.00 (Here)
I’m not 100%, but I believe these are the shoes worn by Leona Lewis in the picture below:
Have any of you found any good Looks for Less? Do share!
//I LOVE the tv show Gossip Girl and I’m also in love with the looks worn by the character Blair Waldorf, played by actress Leighton Meester. As Teen Vogue calls it, Blair’s style is very “Park Avenue Princess.” The filming for the show has started again, and Leighton was spotted in this look:
It’s an interesting mix of prints. The dress if from the Louis Vuitton 2010 cruise collection:
and the shoes are Alexandre Birman
It can be daunting to mix two completely different prints and achieve a cohesive look, but somehow Ms. Waldorf does it well. What are your thoughts? Are you a print mixing fiend? Or do you prefer to keep your prints within the same family? Share your thoughts!
