Website Spotlight: Ideeli

//There are so many fashion sale websites out on the world wide web and it’s hard to know which are reputable and which are simply a waste of time. I’ve visited many and I’ll showcase some of my favorites, starting with Ideeli. Ideeli is an invite only website that allows customers to browse several sales a day from many name brand designers. There are some sites where the merchandise is “on sale,” but it doesn’t really seem like a sale at all. On Ideeli, I’ve seen some great deals! Visit the site here.

Here are a few sales from this week:

One sale is called “Boots under $80”:

BCBGMAXAZRIA Black Ola $59.99 $225.00

Calvin Klein Black Suede $79.99 $209.00

Schutz Brown Sugar Lace Up $59.99 $269.00

STEVEN  by Steve Madden Cognac Leather $79.99 $159.00

Other Sales: “Accessories under $50”, “Special Sizes under $30”, and “Holiday Looks Under $80”

The Look: Turquoise Fever

//I love blazers and I’ve been focusing on adding colored blazers to my wardrobe lately. A blazer works well with so many different looks and a colored blazer can be the perfect addition to a cute top, your favorite pair of jeans, and some boss heels. I snagged this bright turquoise – ish blazer during a thrifting excursion and I was excited to finally wear it! And I’m wearing my new metal heel shoes from Baker’s and I was pleasantly surprised that they weren’t too uncomfortable! I looked at the heel and imagined that I’d be in pain within the first 5 minutes, but I stood and walked around a bit and no major pain to report!

The Look: Houndstooth

//Since Houston decided to actually have something resembling a winter this past weekend, I’ve been bundled up and trying to stay warm indoors. I’m not a fan of cold weather, but I do like some of the clothing associated with it – chic jackets, faux fur, and leather gloves! I’ve been adding new coats to my wardrobe and I found the best Houndstooth coat at WalMart of all places! I was browsing around for the random things people go to WalMart for, and walked past this coat and did a double-take! Houndstooth is such a classic pattern and with a price tag less than $30, there was no way I was leaving without the coat. So I grabbed it and the rest is history! The fit is perfect and the length works for me as a shorter gal. Loves!

My winter must-haves (photographed with Instagram, an app which I LOVE!)

And two random hair pics…It was a good hair day today! I washed my hair with my Queen Helene Shampoo, used the 2 Minute Aphogee Reconstuctor while in the shower, then deep conditioned with the Queen Helene Conditioner. Afterwards I put a generous amount of Redken Butter Treat on my hair as a leave-in and braided up my hair in about 8 sections with a perm rod securing the ends. After my hair dried fully (I find this is they key to preventing frizz), I rubbed my shea butter mixture (shea butter mixed with castor oil and peppermint oil) throughout my hair and scalp. I used the blowdryer to “poof” it out a bit and get some height and Voila!

On Trend: Metal Heels

//Metal heels are nothing new, but these days it’s everywhere you look! Top designers from all over are incorporating metal heels into their shoe designs and the look definitely takes a shoe from ordinary to pow! The heel width can vary with some designs featuring an extra skinny metal heel that can give quite a “risky” look, while others showcase a more “wearable” feel.

Here are some examples:

//Piston Metal Heel Court Shoe – Found Here

//Christian Louboutin Big Lips 120 Calf Hair Pumps – Found Here

//Christian Louboutin Metallip 120 Suede and Metal Pumps – Found Here

//Giuseppe Zanotti Leather and Satin Bow Sandals – Found Here

//Gucci Indian Jade Suede ‘Kelis’ Snakeskin Sandal – Found Here

//Colin Stuart for Victoria Secret  – Found Here

I decided to try out the metal heel and purchased two pairs from Baker’s on Black Friday. They had an excellent sale so I took advantage of the discounts and walked away with these two beauties to add to my shoe collection:

//H by Halston ‘Rachel’ – Found Here

//Wild Pair – I can’t seem to find these on the Baker’s website, but they may still be in local stores.

I haven’t gotten a chance to wear either yet, so we shall see how my ankles hold up! 🙂
